Inspirations Part One: Style a list by KoriMichele
About ten months ago, I was finally inspired to start my own webcomic. I was terrified, primarily because I didn’t “have a style.” I’m a degree-bearing, professionally contracted watercolorist, but I feared that I knew nothing about cartooning.
Unsure of how to go about “developing” a style, my partner suggested I gather images from artists I thought “had a style” that I admired. The result were these collages that I printed out and we hung up on the wall to talk about, determining what a “style” was.
I still don’t know that I have “a style,” but I do know that one will emerge with time. In any case, I wanted to share this set with you. Please visit these artist’s comics/galleries if they inspire you too!
